There are voices on the internet that say I got rich with TL. The users, the contributers, the helping hands, the brainstormers, and the donators! It was a pleasure! So, all that remains is to say thank you! Maybe you hear from me again in the future in the NodeJS/Electron domain, but definitely not in the Twitch domain. The latest sign-in problem showed me I need to go forward and do something else or I lose my cool. In the end all that does not matter anymore. So at the end, implementing illegal stuff results in a way better software. I don't want to get into the details, but acting illegal by using the non-public GraphQL API is actually easier and leads to a much better user experience than the way TL does it. Therefor TL is one of the few downloaders where you have to login to Twitch in order to use it. yea, yea, the mighty grey area of video downloads, right? I tried to make TL as "legal as possible" in terms of copyright and sub-only downloads. And it is no fun anymore to work with their product. In the last 3 years most major issues that made TL stop working were caused by Twitch. An then imagine having to work with that in your own software. Just ask yourself how often you can't login on Twitch compared to Google. The quality of the entire product is at most "fragile". "just wait a couple hours until it works again".
"This does not work", "this throws an error", "this is not documented", "this changed without an announcement" and the best one. Twitch as a software developer has degraded massively over the past 7 years. I am a happy dad now with different priorities than 2015.
That's not possible anymore and it's just how life goes. Before that I could randomly invest 20 hours a week into TL and nobody really cared about it. I do not want to stir up unnecessary drama but give a little insight as to why I came to this dicision.Ĩ0% of the dicision has grown over time since april 2020.
